How would you like to shift into the season of rest and reflection?


Here we have again arrived to Winter, Nature's version of what we humans would call depression.


Nature goes within as the upward growth of plant life ceases, having shed itself the season prior, Earth withdraws in the Winter and becomes quiet and still, outside she appears bleak, because her energies have withdrawn and been directed to providing nourishment to her roots. When Living In Rhythm, we observe these activities of Nature and follow suit, responding to her ques, to also withdraw and go within, to allow ourselves the space to do so.


In a world that doesn't stop, where rest and quietude is not valued, where you are measured by your productivity and how much you can do and how fast, it takes effort at first to allow yourself the time, the space and the permission to do less, rest, and place priority on self care, self nourishment and pleasure.


This is the time to spoil your senses with foods and activities that compliment Winter and counterbalance it's harshness, the time to tap in to your creativity, explore your humaness without judgement or criticism, and reflect on the year.

Winter marks an end and a beginning, it represents transition (as each season does) and we can't forget to slow down, and pay attention, are you living in rhythm? Have you found your Rhythm, have you found that balance? Do you find yourself wanting to force outcomes instead of allowing them to arrive in the right season? Do you often feel anxious when you have less control? Is it hard for you to let go and trust the process? Did you trust the process last year? Or did you spend your energy and efforts trying to control an outcome? How did that work out for you? Do you resist change and shift? Do you struggle letting go of poor habits?


This is the time to go within, quiet the mind, and just observe and listen, you'll be surprised at what you notice, and for now just notice! No need to blame, feel guilt or shame, no need to self criticize or parent yourelf. Just get to the bottom of what matters most to you, and let that lead you and guide you.
